At
the beginning of his career, Jon photographed fashion, beauty, and
sex for national clients.
Tired of shooting the same commercial images for the same people, he
took a job as a marketing rep. at Campaign Communications Institute
(CCI), while creating Art/Icons, a greeting card company that used
his art gallery photographs as covers, and one-liners such as, “I
can’t sleep without you." as messages.
With
moderate monetary success, and critical public acclaim of Art/Icons
greeting cards, he along with David Ebony of Art In America,
magazine created Art/Icons, a website devoted to reviewing the top
ten art gallery exhibitions in New York City.
In the years that followed, Jon accumulated additional sales and
marketing experience as an account executive at various firms;
including SBN.com, a yellow page listing service, where he sold
banner advertising during the peak of the Internet zeal.
Clearly, excited about the prospects of the Internet to expand the
reach of small businesses, as well as its potential to exhibit his
photographs, Jon combined the two purposes and created
BlindPassion.com.
